Architectural Roof Support Steelwork

Our core specialism. Exposed structural steelwork and roof support systems within pool hall environments present a corrosion category C3–C4 challenge. We deliver the full sequence: mechanical preparation, surface-tolerant epoxy primer, high-build intermediate coat and durable topcoat to the required dry film thickness.

02

Commercial Interior Painting

Sports halls, fitness suites, dance studios, squash courts, changing areas and circulation spaces painted in quality emulsion and specialist interior finishes. Large-area application programmed around facility operations to minimise downtime.

03

Squash Court Refurbishment

Squash court walls demand a specialist finish — consistent colour, correct sheen level and a surface that will stand up to repeated ball impact without degrading quickly. We carry out full surface preparation including cleaning, filling and priming before applying the appropriate court finish to manufacturer specification.

04

External Roofwork & Soffits

External roof sheets, soffits, fascias and associated steelwork coated using durable, weather-resistant systems. Safe working at height via MEWP and scaffold access. All surface preparation carried out prior to coating application.

05

Industrial & Commercial Painting

Warehouses, industrial units and large commercial buildings — interior and exterior. We apply the correct coating system for each substrate and environment, whether decorative or high-performance protective.

06

Protective Coating Systems

Two-pack solvent-free epoxy, polyurethane topcoats and zinc-rich primers for structural steelwork, plant rooms and environments with elevated moisture or chemical exposure. Systems selected in accordance with BS EN ISO 12944.

07

Pool Tank Support Steelwork

The structural steelwork directly beneath a swimming pool tank sits in a persistently damp, high-humidity C4–C5 environment. We carry out full mechanical preparation, apply damp-tolerant epoxy primers, and finish with a high-build two-pack system for long-term asset protection.

08

Spray Coating Application

Airless spray application for large structural elements, high-build epoxy systems, and any substrate where consistent film thickness is critical. We treat complex geometry efficiently to the dry film thickness that protective specifications demand, with appropriate masking and containment.

Architectural steelwork

ARCHITECTURAL
ROOF SUPPORT
STEELWORK

The exposed structural steelwork inside a pool hall is amongst the most technically demanding coating environments in the commercial sector. Elevated humidity, chlorine-laden air and high-level access requirements rule out any generic approach.

Correct surface preparation is the foundation. We follow with a primer selected for C3–C4 environments, a high-build intermediate coat, and a two-pack finish coat with the durability to justify the access cost.

🏗◆ Principal Contractor & CDM

We Can Be Your Principal Contractor

Rodec Ltd has hands-on experience managing multi-trade sites as Principal Contractor. We are proficient in CDM as a contractor or Principal Contractor — covering pre-construction planning, site safety management, and maintaining the Health and Safety File throughout the project.

💥◆ Airless Spray Application

Spray Coating Application

In addition to brush and roller, Rodec applies coatings by airless spray — the method of choice for large steel structures and high-build epoxy systems where consistent film thickness is critical. We set up appropriate masking and enclosure to protect adjacent surfaces and meet environmental obligations.

COATING
MAINTENANCE
PROGRAMMES

The initial application is just the beginning. Industrial and protective coating systems perform best when they are monitored and maintained before minor defects become major ones.

Rodec can provide structured maintenance programmes for the coating systems we apply — catching problems early at a fraction of the cost of a full re-coat.

Annual Condition Surveys

Scheduled site visits to inspect coating systems — checking for breakdown, delamination, corrosion undercutting or mechanical damage. A written condition report is provided after each visit.

Planned Touch-In Works

Targeted remedial coating to areas showing early signs of deterioration, before defects spread. Addressing small areas promptly is always more economical than allowing breakdown to progress to the substrate.

Reactive Call-Out

Priority response for reactive coating repairs — mechanical damage, impact marks, isolated coating failures. Keeping the asset protected between scheduled visits.

Full Re-Coat Scheduling

We track the service life of applied systems and advise when a full re-coat cycle is approaching — allowing it to be budgeted and planned rather than becoming an emergency.

First Aid Trained Operatives

Every Rodec site has trained first aiders present. Our operatives hold current First Aid at Work certificates, ensuring a qualified, confident response is available immediately if needed.

We don’t treat first aid as a box to tick. It’s part of how we approach every project: prepared for the job, and prepared for the unexpected.

📋

Method Statements & Risk Assessments

Every project is preceded by a thorough RAMS tailored to the specific site, environment and scope of work. We identify hazards, establish controls and communicate them clearly before work begins.

Whether working over a live pool, at height on scaffold, or within an operational leisure facility, our RAMS reflect actual conditions — not a generic template.

🛠

Safe Working at Height

Working at height is a core part of what we do. Our operatives are trained and certificated for MEWP and scaffold access, and we select the right access method for each job.

We hold IPAF and PASMA certifications and operate in compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 across all contracts.

🔒

CDM & Principal Contractor Compliance

Where we act as Principal Contractor, we manage the full Construction Phase Plan, maintain the Health and Safety File, and ensure CDM 2015 obligations are met across the project.

Safety management is not an afterthought — it is built into how we programme and manage every contract from day one.

EXPERIENCE
YOU CAN
RELY ON

Founded in 1986 and still operating to the same standard.

Rodec Ltd has spent nearly four decades delivering commercial and industrial painting and protective coating contracts, with a particular depth of experience in the leisure and aquatic facility sector. We understand how these buildings are constructed, how the environments within them behave, and what coating specification is required to achieve a durable result.

Our operatives are experienced in working at height, within operationally active facilities, and in the damp, chemically active environments found around pool and plant areas. We bring appropriate access equipment, correctly specified materials, and the experience to prepare surfaces to the standard that determines coating performance.

We are a registered limited company that has traded continuously since 1986. When a facilities manager needs a contractor who will deliver the specification, turn up when agreed, and still be accountable five years from now — that is what Rodec offers.

WHAT SETS
US APART

📅

38 Years of Continuous Trading

Established in 1986 and trading continuously as a registered limited company. That longevity is built on repeat business — clients who have seen coating systems we applied perform over the long term.

🏈

Leisure & Aquatic Facility Specialists

Pool halls, squash courts, leisure centres and sports facilities demand coating expertise beyond standard commercial painting. We understand the corrosion categories and access and programme constraints that facilities managers work within.

🔧

Specification Before Application

The service life of any coating system is determined before a brush is picked up — by surface preparation standard, product selection and dry film thickness. We specify the correct system and document the work.

The way the project was managed, the attention to detail and how you moved things forward to finish ahead of schedule was amazing. The finished product is first class.
